Licensing Opportunities

We are dedicated to the advancement of formulation science and our team have an ongoing research and development programme for delivering flexible and innovative solutions in key areas. We have a growing IP portfolio, providing exciting licencing opportunities, and we always welcome opportunities for collaborative research or development. Current technologies available to license are:

Cardiovascular Medicine

We have demonstrated, in a Proof of Concept study in man, the nocturnal delivery of a calcium channel blocker taken at bedtime and providing a sustained release of drug after a 5 hour delay. This provides therapeutic plasma levels of the drug at the time of early morning surges in blood pressure, which are associated with cardiovascular accidents in the first three hours following wake up. We intend to license this technology following scale-up and larger scale PK studies.

Colon Targeted Delivery

Based on our detailed understanding of gastrointestinal transit, addition of a gastroresistant coating to our time-delayed platforms offers the opportunity for targeted delivery to the colon. For this technology, following scale-up and larger scale PK studies, we intend to seek co-development arrangements with clients who have a drug that would benefit from our unique capability in targeted colon delivery.

Morning Stiffness

We have demonstrated, in a Proof of Concept study in man, the nocturnal delivery of an OTC analgesic, providing a dose of drug pre-wake up to relieve the patient’s pain and stiffness on arising in the morning. We intend to license this technology as an OTC preparation following scale-up and Phase II clinical studies.

Sleep Maintenance

We have developed an innovative drug delivery form that delivers a pulse of short-acting hypnotic two hours after administration. This could reduce the incidence of awakening during the night, providing potentially undisturbed sleep and reducing the likelihood of next day drowsiness. We intend to undertake the clinical development, through to NDA filing, of this technology in-house.

Others

We have the capability to incorporate most drugs into our controlled release systems to provide temporal patterns of drug delivery. The time delays can be controlled as required and the drug can be released as either a pulse or in a sustained manner. We would be happy to discuss development strategies with you. Contact us to discuss how we can provide an innovative solution to your drug delivery requirements.
